Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary responsibility for this position is to lead the onboarding and training of new Pharmacy Operations staff and Pharmacy Services Associates. In addition, this position is responsible for curriculum development and continuous training of current staff.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and deliver effective presentations for the onboarding of new employees, and development of current staff.
  • Confer with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of new pharmacy operations initiatives, including learning new systems and processes and the creation or modification of training curriculum required for success of the initiative.
  • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
  • Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the pharmacies.
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
  • Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
  • Assist employees with problems concerning “how to” perform specific tasks related to their position.
  • Make suggestions for improving work procedures in the pharmacies.
  • Develop strong relationships with pharmacy PICs and Regional Directors to solicit feedback and identify key training opportunities for pharmacy staff.
  • Participate and coordinate testing and Quality Assurance (QA) efforts in support of new pharmacy systems and platform capabilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education And Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED. (Required)
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. (Required)
  • Pharmacy Technician registration active and in good standing. (Required)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialty Pharmacy experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience in a training role. (Preferred)
  • Experience with development of training material. (Preferred)

  • Must be able to direct and coordinate the work activities of others.

  • Ability to interact and communicate with people over the phone, sometimes in stressful situations.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Reads and accurately interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Conveys empathy and understanding when handling customer service issues.
  • Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment.
  • Categorize tasks based on importance, urgency, or other criteria and follow tasks to completion.


WORK CONDITIONS

  • Position requires 50%-70% travel.
  • Training in-person as well as remotely.
