Underwriting Assistant at One80 Intermediaries

We are looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Senior Insurance Policy Auditor, the Assistant Underwriter operates within the parameters set by International Excess Program Managers and contracted carriers. Responsibilities include handle binding transactions, document reviews, follow-up with brokers for missing items, and billing accounts. The role demands strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Your Impact:

• of business to bind include general liability, auto liability (incl. HNO), physical damage, umbrella/excess, property, crime, motor truck cargo, contingent and cargo, etc…
• the initial binding files for renewal and new business policies. Such work-up to include but is not limited to: review and verification for minimum submission requirements as identified by manager, MVR review and documentation, as applicable, effectively communicate to broker missing items needed to proceed
• customer service by responding promptly and courteously to all requests for status updates and information

Successful Candidate Will Have:

• years’ experience in multi-line commercial insurance environment preferred
• self-motivated problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• to organize and prioritize workload with little supervision and efficiently make sound business decisions within level of authority, as applicable
• literate. Basic to intermediate skills with Word, Outlook and Excel
• should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and sharp attention to detail

At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base hourly pay range for this position is between $20.00 - $28.00 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
