The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle.


Position Summary: The DCCC is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as the Accounting Administrative Assistant. This position’s primary duty is to assist the Accounting & Compliance Department in managing the DCCC’s financial activities. The ideal candidate will have entry-level experience in accounting or administration.


This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.


Responsibilities Include:


Accounting Project Management

  1. Process committee disbursements - reviewing check requests for accuracy and policy compliance and ensuring supporting documents are up to date and complete
  2. Assist with accounts payable process - setting up/releasing payments, transmitting payment information to relevant parties and completing documentation
  3. Work with Accounting Specialist to manage committee credit card program – proofing expense reports and compiling supporting documentation
  4. Reconcile monthly travel expenses booked through centralized platforms 

Compliance & FEC Responsibilities

  1. Track and review committee receipts and disbursements for data integrity
  2. Assist with reviewing and ensuring accuracy of data disclosed on FEC report
  3. Add supporting transaction details to disbursement records in accounting database

Departmental Coordination

  1. Support the department with data entry and organizing file systems
  2. Maintain the department calendar and scheduling requests
  3. Assist the CFO and department with other duties and projects as necessary to ensure the success of the Accounting & Compliance team
Requirements
  • Entry-level experience in accounting and/or administration;
  • NGP experience is preferred;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro;
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines required;
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and work both independently and with other departments in accomplishing goals;
