Job Description
The Learning Manager will partner with the Global Learning team, APJ Global People Leads, and geography leads to plan, execute and scale performance, learning and development programs and strategies for Japan. They will lead the identification of learning needs, communications, and program delivery, as well as working closely with other members of the Global People team including HRBPs, Early in Careers, Learning and Development, and People Operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Understand Country-Specific Learning Needs & Support Solutions:
o Manage and oversee activities involved in needs assessment, design, preparation, and delivery of training and development programs for Japan.
o Identify and address country-specific learning needs, ensuring that solutions are tailored to meet local requirements.
· Partner like a Pro:
o Collaborate with in-country HRBPs and leaders to understand learning and development opportunities.
o Provide input to APJ and Global Learning Leads to develop effective global solutions that resonate with the Japanese audience.
· Challenge the status quo:
o Approach Talent Development with curiosity and out-of-the-box thinking, adapting global solutions uniquely to meet Japanese needs while balancing global and local perspectives.
· Manage Programs Flawlessly:
o Act as an ongoing program owner for initiatives launched in-country or globally requiring local implementation.
o Develop project plans, communicate with the Global People Learning team, and lead multiple stakeholders throughout all phases of implementation.
o Deliver training sessions (ILT/ vILT) as necessary to address emerging needs and facilitate skill development.
o Provide local insights to global programs, including L&D, performance development, talent strategy, succession planning, and High Potential initiatives.
· Strategic Partnership with Japan Leadership:
o Collaborate closely with leaders in Japan to understand their people-related needs and develop strategies aligned with company goals.
· Execution of Talent Strategies Alignment with Global Strategy:
o Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives, overseeing their implementation on the ground in Japan.
o Ensure alignment with the global people learning team strategy to adapt programs and initiatives for localization, maintaining coherence across regions.
· Vendor Management and Coordination:
o Engage with vendors (as needed) to fulfil talent-related needs and programs, ensuring high-quality delivery of services.
o Coordinate with other departments like procurement and learning operations for seamless execution of work orders.
Budget Management:
o Take ownership of budget planning and management for talent-related activities in the Japan location, allocating resources effectively to support strategic priorities.
