Job description

Purpose of the Job

The role of the Strategic Sourcing Manager will be to manage the Supply Chain of the Promotional Goods suppliers in North America (NAM). The successful candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company’s spending in the category, supplying partnerships and new possibilities. This position will be accountable for all relevant category sourcing activities, supply chain strategies, product innovation and market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Financial

  • To perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • To ensure the accuracy of the information available in central reports.
  • To review the suppliers’ financial performance and their credit risk scores.
  • To support ongoing RFQs.

Operational

  • To have the Vendor Management function within Promotional Goods category across various countries in North America (NAM) (exact scope to be agreed); to build relationships with the suppliers and be in regular contact with them.
  • To manage the full onboarding process for new suppliers in line with the internal HH Global process.
  • To make sure all existing suppliers adhere in full to HH Global governance and regulations in terms of the onboarding process, contractual coverage and code of conduct; to use Risk Assessment tool to identify and mitigate the potential risks around the suppliers.
  • To lead activities around entity rationalization which impacts the supply base.
  • To update the central repositories with all the necessary supplier-related information; to check the accuracy of the existing reports data.
  • To handle the non-conformances which may be elevated to Strategic Sourcing team, ensuring that the correct documentation is raised and ensure appropriate actions have been taken.
  • To understand the Client Team’s needs, requirements and challenges and work closely with Account Managers and Directors to design, develop and deliver sourcing solutions in line with HH Global strategic objectives.
  • To drive the best practice vendor selection and procurement process across all Account Teams, to educate them on the processes and terms.
  • To support the Client Teams with shortlisting appropriate suppliers per project brief.
  • To share the new ideas, promote suppliers using existing internal communication channels; to explore the market to be able to deliver innovation.
  • To manage the dependencies between sourcing and relevant stakeholders and generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
  • To revise the current suppliers’ roster, regular spend analysis, working towards the consolidation of the spend, building buying power and establishing strategic relationships with the vendors.

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

  • Knowledge about the category and global supply chain (Promotional Goods)
  • Good communication and written skills in English.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask, manage complexity and adhere to timelines set for projects.
  • Ability to pull together information from various sources and to precisely compile into workable documents
  • Experience of business processes and assist to develop new processes as defined to do so
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to lead and or support new vendor negotiations and contract specific negotiations and sustain networking relationships
  • Highly developed relationship management skills
  • Ability to work with client facing teams regarding their requirements and the information required or gaps that may appear, where appropriate and have the influencing skills to ensure focus is retained on the project at hand
  • Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
  • Appropriate technical qualifications
  • Preferably an advanced degree or other professional qualification
  • Microsoft office skills, including advanced MS excel skills
