Job description

This is a remote position.

Skill-Loan (dba Mechanics Marketplace) is a rapidly growing start-up company that provides turnkey recruiting services for the auto repair industry. We are looking to add an automotive recruiter intern to our team preferably located in the Pacific or Mountain time zones. If you are an enthusiastic and energetic individual with a great personality who wants to join an exciting new company with the convenience of working flexible hours from home on the weekend then this position is for you.


We welcome applicants with no recruiting experience but willingness to learn and grow their careers in the recruiting field. We provide training and coaching to make sure you learn how to become a professional recruiter and succeed in this field. You must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week including Saturday or Sunday. Additional hours will be added per your availability and our needs.



Responsibilities of Automotive Recruiter Intern
  • Review job ads and senior recruiter notes in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to understand what our clients are looking for.
  • Review applicants resumes in our ATS and job boards for fit. Contact qualified applicants, schedule phone screens with them. Follow a script to screen these applicants and submit them to our clients in a professional manner with a summary of your findings.
  • Engage with and solicit potential candidates on Linkedin, Facebook and Instagram; send messages with job ad
  • Manage candidates in our ATS 
  • Coordinate with other recruiters.
  • Follow up after interview with our client to assess how the interview went and if the candidate was a fit. If not, learn from this experience to adjust screening process. Mission is not accomplished until a position is filled to the satisfaction of our clients.
  • Assist with various administrative duties and ATS management as needed, including submitting bi-weekly reports, refreshing jobs in our ATS, sending out email blasts and insuring candidate and job statuses in ATS are accurate.

Qualifications of Automotive Recruiter
  • Self-starter; able to multi-task with strong attention to detail; persistent in achieving main objective of filling open positions in a timely manner
  • Have a sense of urgency to respond quickly to applicants; the most important characteristic to fill positions with a scarce number of candidates.
  • Preferably located in Pacific or Mountain time zones to handle some West Coast candidate screenings after business hours as needed. 
  • Understanding of auto repair language such as types of automotive repairs and what automotive technicians/mechanics do is desirable but not required - we will train you.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self confidence
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Resourceful in matching candidates to the appropriate jobs
  • Not scared or shy to approach candidates who may not be actively looking for a new job.
  • Hard working and willingness to work around applicants' schedule
