Job description

Overview
The ABAP-HR (Advanced Business Application Programming-Human Resources) role is crucial to our organization as it involves developing and customizing HR modules within the SAP ERP system using ABAP programming. This role plays a key part in ensuring that our HR processes and systems are efficiently designed and implemented to support the organization's human capital management needs.
Key responsibilities
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to understand system requirements and develop technical solutions using ABAP programming language.
  • Customize and enhance SAP HR modules to align with business requirements and best practices.
  • Design and implement interfaces between HR modules and other SAP modules or external systems.
  • Develop and maintain reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF objects) within the HR module.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing for developed programs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for HR module issues, including debugging and resolving system defects.
  • Collaborate with functional HR teams to understand and address end-user system issues and enhancement requests.
  • Stay updated with SAP ABAP and HR module related developments and provide recommendations for system improvements.
  • Document technical specifications and system configurations for developed solutions and customizations.
  • Participate in project planning, estimation, and delivery activities related to HR module development and enhancements.
  • Ensure adherence to development standards, best practices, and change management processes.
  • Train and mentor junior ABAP developers and provide guidance on HR module development best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR module and its integration with other systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades and migration activities.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of X years of experience in SAP ABAP programming with a focus on HR module development and customizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and implementing SAP HR module solutions using ABAP programming.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes and best practices within the SAP ERP environment.
  • Proven knowledge of SAP HCM data structures and configurations.
  • Experience in integrating SAP HR modules with other SAP modules and external systems.
  • Ability to perform debugging and troubleshooting of complex HR module issues and system integrations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and end users.
  • Certification or training in SAP HCM/HR module development will be an advantage.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology and business requirements.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring junior developers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP Fiori, UI5, or other SAP technologies is desirable.
