Jack Henry’s Core Special Projects Team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer that is willing to bring their existing development skills along with a desire to learn new ones to contribute to the overall success of the team. The Core Special Projects team is responsible for the customization of our Core Banking products as it relates to our Core Loan Platform. This team codes predominately in RPG and in .Net but may use other languages on occasion. This mandates a desire to expand your existing development skills to learn new languages to ensure the success of our clients and organization. This position may be worked remotely from anywhere in the United States, but may require occasional travel.

What you'll be responsible for: 

  •  Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.
  • Performs system analysis and programming activities which may require extensive research and analysis.
  • Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.
  • Provides both individual and budget-level tasks and product effort estimates/costs.
  • Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production, both at an individual and team level.
  • Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices. 
  • Creates required technical documentation.
  • Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. Participates in the definition and documentation of standards.
  • Collaboratively works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
  • Performs release validation testing and beta support for projects.
  • Researches problems and develops solutions to the problems.
  • Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
  • Assists in training and mentoring less experienced peers.
  • May contribute to product architecture.
  • May assist less experienced peers.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

 

What you'll need to have: 

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of technical experience in software development or programming.
  • Must have experience with RPGLE with an interest in learning other languages.
  • Experience in banking or another FINTECH that includes experience working with loan software.

 

What would be nice for you to have: 

  • Experience with C# and or.Net.
  • Experience with Jack Henry Core banking platforms and products.
  • Experience in UI.
