Job description

ANTS Sports is hiring a Youth Sports Program Coordinator to help support our continued growth across the Bay Area. This position will oversee our programs in the San Leandro / San Lorenzo / Oakland region.

Our mission is to enrich the lives of Bay Area youth (ages 10 & under) through fun, safe, and age-appropriate sports programs. We run after-school programs and camps in over 50 schools and park sites, and demand continues to grow.

ANTS stands for "America's Next Talented Stars." Our vision is for every child to have access to a coach who helps them fall in love with sports for a lifetime. In our programs, kids build social-emotional skills and learn sportsmanship from an early age. Kids often tell us it's the most fun they've ever had playing sports.

In this role, you'll join a values-driven team that deeply believes in growth, open communication, and youth development. You’ll help shape the systems that support our expansion, train and mentor coaches, and ensure every program is a great experience for kids, families, and coaching staff. You’ll play a key leadership role in a fast-growing organization with room to shape our future.

This is a work from home position based in the East Bay, CA, with flexibility to work from anywhere for 2+ months each year. You will be expected to be in the field at programs Monday-Friday from roughly 2-5pm. Must be available to work select Saturdays for special events and select holidays for camps.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coach Development:

  • Train and mentor coaches in your region through shadowing, feedback, and ongoing support
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure class quality and consistency
  • Lead professional development workshops to grow coaching skills
  • Step in to coach K-5th sports classes or camps as needed, especially during peak seasons (classes are introductory and training is provided)

Program Coordination:

  • Develop a robust pipeline of coach applicants through various platforms such as job posting websites, social media, traditional advertising, in-person events at universities, and more.
  • Lead video interviews and conduct reference checks to identify high quality coaching candidates for specific program needs.
  • Onboard new coach hires who meet our job requirements.
  • Manage timely and professional communication between coaches, school stakeholders, and parents
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and equipment logistics across your portfolio
  • Identify new K-5 program opportunities in new cities and communities
  • Triage and answer customer service inquiries from parents to hello@antssports.com
