Role Description

Dropbox has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Analyst to work on global indirect tax reporting and compliance operations. You'll be joining a fast-paced, dynamic multinational tech company and will gain experience in all aspects of indirect tax compliance, in the US and internationally.

This fantastic Senior Tax Analyst, Indirect Tax role will be a generalist supporting Indirect Tax compliance and financial reporting processes and projects. This role will report to the the Head of Indirect Tax and will be part of a small team of Tax Analysts and Tax Managers who are responsible for the reporting and compliance process for Sales and Use Tax and VAT/GST for Dropbox, including running data reports, preparing and reviewing tax returns, tax payments, journal entries, performing controls and reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and review of indirect tax returns in multiple jurisdictions, in the US and internationally
  • Prepare and review journal entries, work-papers, reconciliations and perform other accounting tasks
  • Track timelines and deadlines for tax returns and payments
  • Perform controls, tests, data analysis and process assurance reviews to ensure tax compliance and reduce risk
  • Work cross-functionally with other members of the Tax, Accounting and IT teams as well as outsourced service providers
  • Research and respond to inquiries from our business partners and customers
  • Provide support for tax audits and inquiries 
  • Draft tax position documentation / technical analyses
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, as needed
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and process improvements to enhance compliance
Requirements
  • 4+ years of Indirect Tax experience
  • Public Accounting combined with in-house company tax accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Law or equivalent
  • Tax/Accounting systems and data analysis skills and experience
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, JD, MST, Ph.D.)
  • Experience working with Oracle ERP, Vertex and other billing systems or tax engines
  • Data and business analytics & reporting - experience with data reporting and/or visualization tools, such as Oracle Analytics, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL
Compensation
Canada Pay Range
$86,700$117,300 CAD
