Role Summary:
We are actively interviewing for a fully remoteNurse Consultant. This role combines nursing expertise with administrative tasks, focusing on evaluating individuals’ eligibility for healthcare services based on medical records and established criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze medical records, reports, and other documentation of patient files to determine eligibility for facility services.
Examining pertinent medical records which may involve consultation with the assessment team and health care providers.
The average volume of medical file reviews per week is around 30-40 cases.
Participates with and provides consultation to case managers and interdisciplinary teams, to make recommendations for ongoing case management.
Serves as an advocate to ensure that adequate and appropriate health services are available to developmentally disabled and experience managing or working with programs for developmentally disabled individuals.
Required Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with current and clear California RN license.
Knowledge of/experience in working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Ability to exercise independent and sound judgement, utilizing all relevant information in decision making.
Excellent written and communication skills in addition to computer skills.
Ability to interpret issues/symptoms clients share and ability to interpret medical terms, symptoms and diagnoses into language understood by case managers and other staff
Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity along with an ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
