The primary purpose of this role is to provide strategic technical and operational direction to the Underwritten business, including identifying improvements to claims and/or customer experience to assist with the delivery of claims and technical excellence and to ensure compliance and other business critical functions are happening and managed to a high standard which includes continuously improving our claims standards.

   

About the role

  • Oversee and enhance policy and procedure documents to improve claims management, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance requirements.
  • Manage claims performance assessments, external audit requirements, and drive remedial actions from audits to enhance claims management practices.
  • Work closely with branches and the National Claims Team to influence and implement long-term improvements in claims management and strategies.
  • Serve as a key contact for IT/system changes and proactively monitor environmental developments and legislative changes impacting claims strategies.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the National Claims Manager on claims trends, performance, and strategic improvements.

 

About you

  • Proven experience in managing projects and operations, with a focus on improving systems and methodologies.
  • Strong skills in managing stakeholders and building cross-functional relationships to effectively influence and implement strategies.
  • Deep expertise in claims management models, cost drivers, and Workers Compensation legislation.
  • Exceptional ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and provide insightful solutions for informed decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with effective planning and prioritization skills to manage tasks and resources efficiently.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
