Senior Software Engineer, Open Text Inc., Gaithersburg, MA:
Leverage knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and systems level programming to design and implement innovative features to efficiently maintain consistency of databases. Enable the database to scale larger without compromising on consistency. Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Perform coding, programming, and integration activities. Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application. Debug and create solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture. Collaborate with teams regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution. Work in a cross-functional team with Quality Assurance (QA), documentation, and others.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week,
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, plus two (2) years of software development experience.
Of the required experience, must have one (1) year of experience with each of the following:
- Writing code and programming in an object-oriented language, such as C/C++ or Java;
- Working with relational databases, such as Oracle or SQL Server;
- Leveraging knowledge of algorithms and data structures; and
- Implementing high-performance, multi-threaded code in an operating system, file system, database management system, or other high-performance applications.
Must also have experience with designing and implementing distributed systems.
100% telecommuting permitted. Applicant may reside anywhere in the US.
