The Job:  

We are seeking a highly motivated and tech-savvy US Indirect Tax Senior Analyst to join our tax team. This role assists with the management of US indirect tax obligations, primarily focusing on Sales Tax, Property Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, and Business License compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of US regulations and the ability to apply them in a fast-paced environment.

As a Senior Analyst, Sales & Use Tax, you’ll be part of our Corporate Tax team working as a remote employee.    You’ll get to:  

  • Preparing or assisting with the preparation and timely filing of various indirect tax returns, including sales and use tax, property tax, and gross receipts tax, across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitoring changes in tax laws and regulations, performing tax research, and applying them to business operations.
  • Analyzing transactions for tax implications, ensuring accurate taxability of products and services, and maintaining and validating exemption certificates.
  • Assisting with tax audits from state and local authorities, including gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Reconciling indirect tax accounts with the general ledger and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assistance with Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in indirect tax compliance and reporting.
  • Collaborating with internal departments (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting and IT) and external service providers to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions and address tax-related inquiries.
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of tax technology solutions and systems. This may include maintaining tax content in tax determination software.

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field, with a preferred focus on taxation.
  • Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a US indirect tax environment in a corporate or public accounting setting. Experience with multi-state operations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with large data sets, are essential.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, PowerBI, and AI tools.
  • Experience with tax research tools and ERP systems (SAP, OneSource, Vertex) is preferred.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in written form with internal and external stakeholders, tax authorities, and external service providers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is key for ensuring compliance and minimizing errors.
