  • Support and troubleshoot instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, and laboratory information systems.

Job description

LabCorp Lab Systems is a dynamic team that supports a variety of the laboratories.  We are in search of a Lab System Specialist to assist with the enhancement, migration, and support of clinical laboratory platforms.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparing documentation for instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, supporting services, programs and/or applications for clinical laboratory testing
  • Conducting file definition/configuration, testing, and troubleshooting for instrument interfaces, services, programs and applications for clinical laboratory testing
  • Providing on call support for production systems
  • Providing remote & on-site training and support prior to, during and post system implementations and conversions
  • Consulting with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of Laboratory operations in a reference or hospital laboratory.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills for enterprise level production systems, to include instrument interfaces, middleware platforms, and Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems
  • Ability to perform file definition and configuration within Laboratory Information Systems, instrument interfaces, and middleware platforms.
  • Ability to create user training documentation using Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to take initiative to learn existing applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience in Healthcare applications and systems
  • Ability to travel (25%)

Requirements:

  • Experience utilizing Data Innovations Instrument Manager Middleware
  • Conducting file definition and configuration for and within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and related applications
  • Providing training and implementation support for instrument platforms for and within LIMS and related applications
  • Enterprise Systems/Services/Protocols: Cache’, Antrim, HL7, ASTM
  • Operating Systems: Windows
  • Tools: Visio, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Desired experience with LCLS, Data innovations, LCWS, and SIS/SRS
  • 5+ years’ experience in a medical/clinical laboratory environment or experience supporting and deploying laboratory information systems (required)  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Information Technology or related field (required)

Pay Range: $50,000 - $90,000


All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
