To strengthen our global tax department, we are currently looking for a full-time, permanent Tax Manager Germany (m/f/d) for one of our various locations throughout Germany (preferred), Poland or the Czech Republic.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Tax Manager supporting German tax matters within Carrier's global tax function. In addition to managing tax compliance, you will be responsible for ongoing tax matters as well as the tax audit of Carrier in Germany. This role offers a unique opportunity to become part of a growing tax department in the region and to play a key role in building structures and processes. This role reports into the Senior Manager, Tax Europe/Germany based in Germany.

Responsibilities

As Tax Manager (m/f/d) you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting German group companies, in particular advise the business on day-to-day tax matters and within projects as requested
  • Review of tax assessment notices, in particular Corporate Income Tax and Trade Tax assessment notices and monitoring of tax related deadlines and obligations
  • Review of tax returns prepared by an external service provider in collaboration with the Compliance Center of Excellence EMEA
  • Supporting the US Tax Reporting team with quarterly and year-end current and deferred tax calculations for the German business unit
  • Assist with managing ongoing tax audits including liaising with the finance organization and tax auditors
  • Assist with various other obligations and tax filings related to withholding tax, wage tax lump sum taxation, RETT or other local taxes and levies, as requested Identify opportunities for optimization and assist in continuous improvement of tax processes

Your Profile

We are looking for people with strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation, organizational skills, a desire to perform and progress as well as being a strong team player. Additionally, you should also have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in business administration, economics or law with a major in tax, accounting, auditing or other tax-related discipline
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in either a finance or tax department of a large corporation or corporate tax or accounting firm environment
  • Strong knowledge of German tax law (knowledge of international tax law an advantage)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English
