Job description

Position Summary
Prep Network is seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Emerging Territory Manager with a proven track record of success in generating new opportunities. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research and discovery to understand client business drivers and pain points, managing and prioritizing opportunities, and qualifying potential new prospects. You will present tailored event recommendations and program growth solutions that align with business objectives while driving the sales process forward to close new business effectively and consistently.

This Emerging Territory Manager will have the opportunity to shape their success and contribute to our business growth through the proactive targeting and pursuit of new opportunities with emerging club programs in the Prep Boy's Hoops space.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Accountability
  • Develops and executes a growth-focused sales plan, establishing a pipeline baseline, identifying major opportunities and risks, and regularly communicating progress. Adjusts sales strategies and activity levels to meet goals and proactively addresses changes in opportunities.
  • Anticipates client needs by analyzing their program goals, challenges, decision-making processes, and competitive interests to identify growth opportunities and strategies for retention and upselling.
  • Stay updated on the sports media and event industry by attending tournaments, engaging with industry networks, and researching competitive offerings to ensure Prep Network events remain compelling.
  • Elevates the Prep Hoops brand profile, enhances accessibility, and expands tournament reach, ensuring events serve as platforms for player development and the advancement of the sport.

Following the Sales Process
  • Prioritizes client needs, guiding them through the sales process to make informed decisions that meet their goals.
  • Manages and progresses a qualified pipeline, forecasting opportunities with activities aligned to sales targets.
  • Expand the Program's vision by positioning Prep Network events as part of a broader athlete development plan, offering exposure, competitive growth, and recruitment opportunities.
  • Utilizes a consultative approach to identify and address each program’s unique needs, presenting tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all stages of the sales process, from research to closing, by effectively qualifying opportunities, uncovering client needs, differentiating Prep Network from competitors, and addressing objections.
  • Effectively researches new programs and develops a list of opportunities that are potential ideal clients of Prep Network.
  • Qualifies opportunities that align with Prep Network's ideal program criteria and confidently walks away from unprofitable business.
  • Engages in deep discovery to align solutions with client goals and long-term vision, fostering commitment and creating urgency throughout the process.
  • Successfully closes sales, overcomes objections, and actively seeks referrals to expand opportunities.

Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborates with Strategic Program and Program Success Managers to share strategies for driving higher participation rates among paid teams.
  • Develops and implements creative marketing campaigns that highlight high-visibility program involvement to attract emerging programs.
  • Ensures effective handoff of new business to the Program Success Manager by documenting client needs, expectations, and growth potential.
  • Provides feedback to enhance future tournaments based on program experiences and input.
  • Communicates client needs and goals internally to ensure alignment and resource prioritization, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Builds strong collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless client experiences.
  • Provides regular updates on account activities, performance, and growth opportunities to leadership.
  • Confidently brings in additional company support when necessary.
  • Continuously seeks improvements in internal processes, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency.

Company Systems and Administration
  • Document and maintain detailed client and prospect information in the company CRM, including program size, competitors, tournament commitments, and key contacts.
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasts and pipeline reports to management.
  • Stay proficient in using MS Office tools and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) tools and processes to help drive focus, accountability, and growth within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in selling professional services, with sports media and tournament industry experience preferred.
  • Genuine interest and awareness in Prep Network Brands (basketball, volleyball, or football).
  • Proven success in achieving/exceeding sales goals and executing a structured sales process.
  • Client-focused with excellent communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in negotiation and business acumen, understanding key decision-making drivers.
  • Aligned with company culture and values, committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Competitive Compensation.  The base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, with additional incentive opportunities available.
