Job description

Your mission
Finoa is hiring a highly skilled Senior Financial Manager to lead accounting, oversee treasury operations, and ensure compliance with BaFin financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in capital adequacy and liquidity monitoring, work directly with external auditors on financial matters, and manage financial reporting under HGB standards. You will report directly to the Interim CFO, provide guidance to junior team members, and have the potential to develop into a leadership position.
In this role, you will:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Lead the accounting function and ensure compliance with HGB.
  • Manage financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Handle BaFin financial reporting, ensuring compliance with capital adequacy and liquidity monitoring requirements.
  • Work directly with external auditors for financial audits.
  • Maintain ledger accuracy and oversee financial reconciliation.
  • Optimize internal financial controls and ensure compliance with German accounting standards.
Treasury & Liquidity Management
  • Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow management, fiat/crypto balance monitoring, and liquidity planning.
  • Ensure proper fund allocation and risk mitigation strategies for digital and fiat assets.
  • Develop strategies to optimize financial efficiency while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure full compliance with BaFin financial regulations, particularly around capital adequacy and liquidity monitoring.
  • Work closely with compliance and legal teams to align financial practices with regulatory expectations.
  • Assist in refining financial policies, internal controls, and risk assessment frameworks.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide guidance to junior finance team members and support their development.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Financial Analyst on financial planning and forecasting initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with compliance, operations, and product teams on financial matters.
What you need to be successful:
  • 8+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing within a regulated financial institution (crypto, banking, fintech, or asset management preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of BaFin regulations, particularly capital adequacy and liquidity monitoring.
  • Proven experience in treasury management and financial reporting under HGB.
  • Background in financial audits, with experience working with external auditors.
  • Accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience with DATEV or similar ERP systems; familiarity with crypto accounting adjustments is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory), German is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Prior experience in crypto-specific accounting (e.g., staking rewards, trading P&L tracking) is a plus but not required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
