Summary
The Senior Construction Project Manager (“SR CPM”) leads and manages the construction process for new Shacks within an assigned region. This includes schedule management, project financial management, coordination of internal and external vendors, managing the turnover process from construction completion through Turnover, and reporting on project progress and financials at regular intervals for their assigned projects and for the projects of their subordinate Construction Project Manager. Interfaces and coordinates with Real Estate, Development, Design, Permitting, Facilities, IT, Operations, Training, and Marketing as well as Landlord Reps and AHJ’s throughout the construction phase of a project. Manages the performance and responsibilities of Shake Shack Construction Project Manager. Provides leadership onboarding new CPMs, General Contractors and vendors. Provides and champions new process guidance including implementation or testing and may be assigned Shacks that have more challenging scope, schedules or expectations. Provides back-up for Senior Director as needed. Sets the example for all CPMs. Participates as needed in design standard reviews, process improvement discussions, and as necessary publishes procedures outlining new or improved processes. Is detailed and relentless advocating and driving results to deliver Shacks that meet expectations for cost, quality and schedule. Manages internal and external relationships well to develop trust and equity while getting results. Is respected and looked up to amongst their peers.
Priority candidates live in the East Coast or Central US region.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the general construction and timely turnover and opening of new Shacks
Review, manage, and approve GC & vendor changes and invoices and track against the project budget. Forecast project spend 10%
Manage project schedule and implement schedule acceleration strategies as necessary
Oversee and manage the transition from construction completion to Ops through Turnover
Engage other internal teams as necessary for the successful execution of the project
Lead, manage, mentor and supervise a Shake Shack Construction Project Manager
