What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Staff IT Engineer to join SentinelOne’s IT team. The SentinelOne IT team's mission is to provide highly reliable and innovative services to the enterprise. The Senior Staff Engineer will perform technical planning, end-to-end design, configurations, and automation for cloud computing and on-prem infrastructure. This position will focus on the optimization of infrastructure and processes for manageability, scalability, security, and reliability. 

The Senior Staff Engineer will be expected to provide technical expertise during the design, build, and maintenance phases of our infrastructure. They will demonstrate subject matter expertise in cloud technologies and best practices for maintaining their security. They will ensure that standards set by data, security, and other enterprise domains are followed during the design and implementation phases.

This role will be expected to contribute to a wide range of projects, often concurrently. There will be opportunities for mentorship and independent execution, and the individual will be required to manage expectations and deliverables independently.

Please note: this role’s manager is located in the US Eastern time zone. 

What will you do? 

  • Lead major technical projects with significant organizational impact. In some cases you will be involved from Day 0, in others you will be brought in as extra support. You can decompose problems, and work around technical issues to help teams achieve their desired outcomes.
  • Design, develop, and implement tools, and automations across the enterprise. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across core enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, Google Workspace, and Okta.
  • Resolve highly complex and significant technical issues.
  • Lead technology evaluations and decision-making.
  • Provides strategic input into technology roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine needs and develop comprehensive solutions that resolve inefficiencies in critical processes.
  • Collaborate with IT, InfoSec, Data Architecture, Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams to ensure architecture standards are adopted and followed.
  • Provide detailed documentation around design and implementation of core automations, data flow, and processes. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and system design best practices.

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

  • Interpret complex business challenges and recommend best practices to significantly improve products, processes, or services. 
  • Leads others in solving complex problems using analytical thought and a security-first mindset. 
  • Designs and architects complex, scalable, and resilient technical solutions.
  • Proficient in scoping and designing automations that manage interactions between multiple SaaS applications and their APIs.
  • Hands-on experience managing on-premise and cloud infrastructure for an engineering led organization. 
  • Multi-cloud experience, with expertise in at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure platforms.
  • Experience in designing IAM solutions in both on-prem and AWS / GCP cloud platforms. Including, but not limited to, Active Directory, Entra (Azure AD), and Okta.
  • Practical experience working with cloud automation and configuration management tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.; Python, Powershell, or Bash scripting experience is necessary.
  • Proven track record of driving efficiency through standards, automation, and management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A self-starter that is passionate and motivated by new technologies, and has empathy for legacy systems
  • A quick learner that can keep up with new features being released by the cloud providers

Base Salary Range
$157,600$200,000 USD
