Job description

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is the world’s largest telematics service provider. Its mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. The company’s AI-driven platform, DriveWell Fusion®, gathers sensor data from millions of IoT devices — including smartphones, proprietary Tags, connected vehicles, dashcams, and third-party devices — and fuses them with contextual data to create a unified view of vehicle and driver behavior. Auto insurers, automakers, commercial mobility companies, and the public sector use insights from CMT’s platform to power risk assessment, safety, claims, and driver improvement programs. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with offices in Budapest, Chennai, Seattle, Tokyo, and Zagreb, CMT measures and protects tens of millions of drivers across the world every day.

CMT is seeking an entry-level IT Systems Administrator to join our IT team and provide day-to-day operational support, administration, and routine maintenance of our IT systems and services. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain documentation such as knowledge articles, system diagrams, and operating procedures, and act as the escalation point for resolving escalated IT issues directly with users. Additional responsibilities include supporting IT projects and initiatives as needed. This is a hybrid role and will require a successful candidate to work out of our office in Budapest Hungary at least 3 days per week or as the work demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support for IT systems and services, including basic administration and routine maintenance
  • Help manage employee accounts, access permissions, and system logins by following established processes
  • Create and update documentation such as how-to guides, system diagrams, and internal training materials
  • Support IT infrastructure on AWS in collaboration with other team members
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating when needed
  • Work with the team to improve and update IT processes and tools
  • Assist with documenting and helping to roll out new systems and services
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
  • Proficiency with Ubiquity network troubleshooting and administration
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Lift or move objects weighing around 20 kgs
  • Willing and able to work in person in our office in Budapest, Hungary, at least 3 times per week

Nice to Have:

  • Some relevant IT working experience supporting Windows and macOS environments is preferred
  • Experience managing Onelogin, Google Workspace, mobile device management, and Atlassian tools
  • Intermediate Experience administering Windows environments, Linux servers, and network equipment
  • Advanced-level knowledge of macOS software and Apple hardware troubleshooting

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Fair and competitive salary based on skills and experience, and annual performance bonus
  • Equity may be awarded in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
  • Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, matching 401k, short-term & long-term disability and parental leave
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off including vacation, sick days & public holidays
  • Flexible scheduling and work from home policy depending on role and responsibilities

Additional Perks:

  • Feel great working to improve road safety around the world!
  • Join one of our many employee resource groups including Black, AAPI, LGBTQIA+, Women, Book Club and Health & Wellness
  • Extensive wellness, education and employee assistance programs
  • CMT will do all that is possible to support our employees and create a positive and inclusive work environment for all!
