Position Summary

 The Senior Proposal Specialist is responsible for executing a diverse range of tasks within the scope of creating, organizing, developing, and producing proposals and other formally requested correspondence. Provide assistance with the new and existing contracts for the Care Coordination, Professional Clinical Staffing, Quality Improvement, and Complex Health Management business units. This position requires exceptional proposal writing skills combined with the ability to multi-task on multiple pursuits.

 Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposal responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and/or new business in a detailed, thorough, and timely manner.
  • Assist with reviewing various websites for new business opportunities (i.e., BidPrime, OPEN MINDS, state pages, and daily list).
  • Read, evaluate, and report on potential RFPs (provide summaries).
  • Track RFP deadlines, updates/amendments, and results in Salesforce.
  • Prepare proposal compliance matrix, templates, assign forms/attachments to Contracts department, and other response materials to share with subject matter experts for tracking proposal deliverables.
  • Perform data collection including contacting partners (subcontractors), outlining requirements, and organization and distribution of information.
  • Track and update proposal information in Salesforce.
  • Draft letter proposals, agreements, and amendments.
  • Assist with Medicaid application completion for States where Columbus does or would like to engage in business. This includes assistance with revalidating and recredentialing existing Medicaid providers numbers.
  • Assist in verifying insurance compliance to ensure coverage meets required limits and identifying any discrepancies for resolution.
  • Assist with Salesforce duties including creating and managing user accounts/licenses; creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and databases; data entry; customizing webpage layout/features; point of contact for Salesforce issues; support Executive Team with customer relationship communication.
  • Coordinate with the Contract Specialist on research for subcontractors and subcontractor agreements for proposals.
  • Occasionally complete projects and special assignments to establish objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with all team members including senior leadership to deliver excellent work with accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist with conducting research on assigned projects including potential business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in proofreading and editing material.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

 This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 Travel

 The position is primarily home based. Corporate office based in Blue Bell PA; minimal travel requirements.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of five years of proposal writing experience.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to provide effective support for Team personnel.
  • High level of initiative, self-direction and accountability for actions required.
  • Proficient in updating information and creating reports in Salesforce.
  • Required to speak and listen with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequently lifts and moves up to 10 pounds.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle devices or use writing tools.

 

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Communications, Journalism, or English.
