Please note that while this is a remote based position, the individual is ideally to be located in NY/NJ/Connecticut/ Chicago area and a company car will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular sales calls to current and potential customers to drive sales and profit growth.
  • Support opportunity pipeline development for cosmetic ingredients and drive growth in designated business segments.
  • Track and report on business opportunities, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist in marketing initiatives, including technical presentations and preparation of promotional materials.
  • Manage business relationships with assigned brands and potentially oversee direct account management.
  • Act as a core member of global business segment teams, contributing regional insights to shape global strategy and regional action plans.
  • Become a market expert by monitoring trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
  • Represent Evonik at industry events, tradeshows, and associations, promoting its innovative and sustainable cosmetic ingredients.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology).

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or applied innovation in personal care. A background in cosmetic chemistry, formulation Chemist or product development is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation processes, regulations, and claim substantiation is preferred.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into Evonik’s system solutions.
  • Must possess excellent sales, communication, and presentation skills, along with a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PowerBI, and preferably CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated and independent, yet collaborative across multiple functions.
  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects and customer requests efficiently.
  • This is a remote position with 10–30% travel, primarily regional with potential for international travel.

Summary Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

 

Pay Range: $91,900- $166,500 per year
