Job description

We are looking for a temporary Assistant Project Manager to focus on our Community Solar portfolio. This person is organized and detail-oriented, loves to make chaotic situations run smoothly, understands the value of strong processes and will enthusiastically familiarize oneself with our software systems to assist in creating and then managing a seamless, efficient, and highly organized project onboarding process. This person is passionate about the type of work Generate is doing, looking to apply their experience to help scale a growing business and drive critical internal process efficiencies and initiatives. This person can juggle – and juggle well – managing a variety of stakeholders and projects simultaneously while providing the highest standards of performance.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the Temporary Assistant Project Manager:

  • Assist the Project Manager responsible for the DRS, TPE and New Leaf portfolios. Main responsibilities include the following and should account for 40 hours per week

    • Review and understand details, key milestones, and deliverables required for projects in each portfolio

    • Collect, organize, and perform quality control checks on required project deliverables; ensure receipt from construction partners in accordance with milestone schedule

    • Attend project progress meetings to take notes and track action items. Follow up on action items as required

    • Coordinate engineering review of construction design documents, RFI, and submittals with various internal/external engineering resources

    • Support completion of weekly progress and schedule updates in project management software

  • If the above tasks are completed and there is sufficient time

    • Complete a variety of administrative tasks related to projects, such as asset ownership transfer forms, incentive program applications/registrations, interconnection and permitting paperwork, and sales tax certificates

    • Audit existing project files for compliance with team standards and update as needed

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

  • A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission

  • 2+ years’ experience in development administration and/or project management, with some exposure to solar PV projects preferred

  • Ability to flex across the development and construction lifecycle

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through

  • Effective written and oral communicator capable of motivating colleagues and external parties to collaborate and respond to requests.

  • Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening as well as strong writing, editing, and basic design skills

  • High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges

  • Intellectual agility, curiosity, and creativity; problem-solving is your default mode

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: flexibility, comfort with risk, recognition that “perfect can be the enemy of the good”

Generate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.
