Job Summary: The SeniorBusiness Technology Partner (BTP) serves as a key liaison between IT and Operations, ensuring technology solutions effectively support business goals. This role is responsible for driving alignment between business priorities and IT capabilities through active stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration. The BTP will help enable technology by supporting project delivery, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and promoting consistent communication across teams. By bridging the gap between technical and operational groups, this role plays a critical part in supporting unified, enterprise-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Alignment
Serve as a strategic liaison between Departments and IT to align technology initiatives with business goals.
Translate business needs into clear IT requirements and advocate for solutions that drive operational value.
Participate in business planning and IT roadmap discussions to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
Execution Support
Collaborate with project managers to support planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects.
Assist in defining project scope, requirements, and success metrics in partnership with both business and IT stakeholders.
Identify and help remove roadblocks that may impact project timelines or outcomes.
People Development
Collaborate with leadership to identify skill gaps and contribute to training and development initiatives related to technology adoption.
Mentor and support team members and business partners in understanding and leveraging technology.
Help build digital literacy and promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning across business functions.
Technology Enablement & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enablement across the organization.
Recommend and help implement tools, systems, or automation that improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Promote user adoption of new systems and tools by facilitating feedback loops and enhancements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, operational teams, and IT counterparts.
Facilitate clear, ongoing communication between business stakeholders and IT to ensure shared understanding and expectations.
Support change management and training efforts to drive successful transitions to new technologies or processes.
Governance & Performance Monitoring
Ensure that projects and solutions adhere to IT and organizational governance standards and policies.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to technology adoption, project success, and user satisfaction.
Provide regular updates and status reports to stakeholders on progress, risks, and outcomes
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of business processes and how they interact with IT systems
Proven experience in business analysis, project coordination, or IT/business liaison roles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability totranslate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional teams
Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to drive issues to resolution
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Miro, etc.)
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to JD Edward, Procore, Deltek, Jira, Concur
Working knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) or ITIL frameworks
Experience in change management and user adoption strategies
Understanding of data governance, reporting tools, or business intelligence systems
Prior experience in the Engineering, Construction, or Industrial Services sector (or similar industries)
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Project Management or Business Analysis certifications are a plus (e.g., PMP, CBAP, Agile/Scrum certifications)
