CareerWise is a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization that creates life-changing opportunities for the youngest generation of America’s workforce. We build industry-led, student-centered, modern youth apprenticeships through classroom and on-the-job learning providing flexible, alternative pathways to economic mobility. We have hundreds of CareerWise apprentices in the workplace, charting new paths to academic and career success. In addition, workforce and education leaders from across the country have visited CareerWise to learn about our youth apprenticeship model. As a result, our programs have launched in multiple states, leveraging our institutional knowledge, technology, and infrastructure.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Salesforce Developer, the Associate Salesforce Developer and AI Specialist will serve in a support capacity developing the CareerWise Salesforce infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about technology, continuous learning, and taking “risks”. 


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • SALESFORCE EXPERTISE | You will assist in developing customized solutions using a variety of programming languages. You will help design and code applications within the CRM and Experience Cloud. You will also participate in testing functionality and usability, troubleshoot and fix bugs in Salesforce, and contribute to authoring technical documents that support technical training for our users.
  • INTEGRATIONS | Alongside the Salesforce Solutions Architect and Salesforce Developer you will assist with implementing custom integrations that support the goals of CareerWise
  • COLLABORATION | Working across many departments to support what is best for CareerWise's growth and strategic goals. You will work with different teams and perspectives. 
  • AI EXPANSION | Focus on building out the AI functionality of CareerWise in partnership with the Sr. Salesforce Developer and Systems Administrator to ensure CW is utilizing AI that is secure and best in class. 
  • TROUBLESHOOTING & BUGS | Support the internal ticketing system to answer end user questions and support in reviewing debug logs to find solutions to issues that come up. 
  • INNOVATION | You will explore, research, and propose features that will help CW user adoptions and the growth of the CareerWise program. 
  • ANALYTICAL | Utilize data-driven insights to track product adoption, identify growth opportunities, and enhance the user experience.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


Key competencies to be successful in this role:

  • Basic knowledge and experience using Salesforce including but not limited to Lightning Web Components, Aura Components, Apex, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, VisualForce, and SOQL 
  • AI Associate Certification or another AI certification is recommended
  • Excellent communication skills in person and online; ability to distill technical concepts and effectively explain/share information with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work and manage project timelines successfully
  • Familiarity understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Minimum of Salesforce Administrator Certifications are preferred. However, other salesforce certifications are welcome. 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the principles of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
  • Lives out the CareerWise values and has a passion for the CareerWise mission and vision


Additional proficiencies:

  • Completion of CareerWise Apprenticeship or within 6 months of graduation
  • 1+ years of front and back end development experience
  • 1+ years of AI implementation experience
  • 2+ years of working with designers to understand mockups
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies and with release planning and strategy
  • Design, implementation, and user adoption experience
  • Analytical and creative thinker
  • Experience using Google Suite, Figma, and project management software (like Jira, Lucid, etc.)
  • Comfort with change and ambiguity
  • Experience and interest in working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to understand and interpret the multiple complexities of the evolving youth apprenticeship movement

Location:

This role can be based in/near Denver, Colorado or it can be 100% remote. Remote work is not guaranteed and the schedule must be approved by the supervisor. There may be occasions (possibly 1-3 times per year) for staff to gather together in person. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances. 


Compensation:

The salary range for this role is: $25 to $28 per hour; this role is covered by the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the FLSA. CareerWise offers a generous benefits package including group medical, dental, and vision plans, short-term disability, 100% vested 401k Plan with a 3% employer contribution, and Flexible Time Off.
