The Organization
North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
SUPERVISION
Receives supervision from the Psychological Services Supervisor.
THE POSITION AND JOB SUMMARY
Handles the initial intake of incoming requests for Lanterman Act eligibility, including walk-ins, telephone and email inquiries and applications. Requests and distributes records. Provides information regarding Regional Center as well as other community resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Gathers initial information related to request for eligibility and assist families with completion of intake application as needed.
- Conducts statewide searches for applicants to see if they have previously received services at any Regional Center.
- Creates initial inquiry or UCI and inputs and /or updates demographic information for applicants in Regional Center computer systems.
- Obtain and verify consents for services and records
- Requests and distributes medical, school, mental health and other applicable records.
- Requests and or verifies additional information as needed to assist in determining eligibility
- Answers phone calls and responds to emails and provides status updates to applicants, families, and other agencies (with consent).
- Requests case records from storage or other Regional Centers as needed.
- Documentation of all case activity in Regional Center computer systems.
- Performs administrative tasks as required.
- Participates in meetings and training sessions as requested.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
- Must be in, at minimum, in your last semester of your Bachelor’s degree program in social work, education, child development, psychology or a related field.

Knowledge of Developmental or related disabilities, social service provision, basic community resources, use of word processing, internet and data entry.

Compensation
This position is non-exempt with an hourly range between $19.00 - $20.46 per hour, plus $69.24 per bi-weekly pay period for bilingual services.
