Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Closing team
  • Ability to perform all duties associated with the roles of Closer and Funder while also supporting company initiatives, customer service advocacy, and the development and training of Closers and Funders.
  • Review and resolve escalations from internal and external partners in a timely manner.
  • Identify and escalate issues within the prescribed timeframes.  Provide summaries of escalations and track issues to review with the Closing Manager to identify systemic  concerns and trends.
  • Offer real-time coaching and feedback to team members. 
  • Train new closers and funders.
  • Understand and identify client needs and quickly escalate or finalize solutions as needed.
  • Participate in Broker Net Promoter Score (NPS) feedback and Closing Agent surveys.
  • Assign  files and manage MLM work queues, considering time zones and service needs, to ensure balanced workloads.
  • Review and approve team member timecards and PTO
  • Perform Disciplinary actions as needed including verbal warnings, written warning and terminations upon review with Closing Manager

Closer Responsibilities

  • Balance the Closing Disclosure (CD) and review files to generate complete closing packages for closing agents.
  • Collaborate with closing agents and brokers to perfect fees on the CD and ensure accurate closing documents.
  • Audit fees to confirm alignment with closing agents and third-party charges.
  • Assess and understand the client's needs to promptly escalate and ensure a finalized solution is delivered.
  • Ensure invoices for third-party fees are in E-docs and accurately reflected on the CD.
  • Independently verify wire instructions, balance wires, and request funds.
  • Follow up with closing agents to ensure timely receipt of loan files.
  • Assist the Post Closing Team with satisfying post-funding conditions and findings.
  • Request additional wires as needed for updated figures.

Funder Responsibilities

  • Oversee a pipeline of signed funding packages to ensure all loans fund on schedule.
  • Manage the pipeline using the MLM "scheduled funding date."
  • Review closing documents to confirm execution and notarization per company and capital markets requirements.
  • Verify property taxes and insurance are current and effective by the funding date or earlier.
  • Review and clear all prior-to-funding conditions.
  • Collaborate with the Post Closing Team to resolve post-funding conditions and findings.

Client = closing agent, Broker, Processor and/or Sales Team


Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in mortgage closing and funding.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including TRID regulations, to ensure compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Management experience.
  • Strong  problem-solving skills and the ability to handle escalations from brokers, closing agents and inside sales team effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Solution based professional.
  • Knowledge of lending guidelines across multiple states is a plus.
