Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
NURS4372.03, Mental Health Nursing – Fall 2025
Students will gain insight into individuals’ experiences of mental health problems, mental disorders/psychiatric illnesses, and addictions. Multiple perspectives, including biological, nursing, sociological, philosophical and political, will guide the analysis. Treatment modalities will be critiqued. The association between nurses’ relational practices and individuals’ quests for life fulfillment will be examined.
This is a 3-credit hour course held online asynchronously.
The appointment runs from September 1 – December 31, 2025, and the successful candidate reports directly to the Associate Director, UG Studies Academic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topic
- Teach course content
- Assessment and evaluation of student learning
- Use of Brightspace for course delivery
- Responding to student queries about coursework
- Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
- Participation in course discussions within the program
- Develop and administer examinations
- Submission of grades
- Follow up with students as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements Of Position
Candidates must hold a graduate nursing degree (PhD preferred), or related field, plus have relevant teaching experience and clinical expertise in the area of mental health nursing.
Salary Range/Pay Rate As per CUPE Collective Agreement
