FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Reports To: Regional Supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY: The Wildfire Field Technician is responsible for running and maintaining Wildfire Mitigation situational awareness technology. Ensure optimal operation and longevity and most importantly secure and confident data flow of the devices. In addition, ensuring that Wildfire Mitigation technology (PTZ cameras and weather stations) are maintained to the highest standards.

  • Oversee various projects related to the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of weather stations.

  • Schedule maintenance to ensure that all equipment is serviced regularly and operates correctly.

  • Manage the schedule for replacement parts, monitor inventory, and ensure timely ordering to prevent any operational disruptions

  • Test and calibrate equipment, including PTZ cameras and weather stations, to ensure their accuracy and reliability.

  • Coordinate with vendors and collaborate closely with line crews

  • Position requires 50-75% travel throughout Arizona

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate or degree in engineering, line construction, technology, or a related field — or 5+ years of project management experience in a related industry

  • Relevant industry experience is preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather

  • Ability to respond to emergent work requests, including nighttime and weekend work, to address urgent issues that may arise.

  • Proficient in map navigation skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus)
