Program Manager Grants/New Products – Forge Battery

This position will be located at our Morrisville, NC location when built out. Preference will, therefore, be given to local candidates.

This position will not be staffed until at least the late August through late September timeframe. There is potential that it may not be filled until the 4th quarter of 2025.

Position Overview:

Forge Battery is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to oversee all aspects of a large federal grant and serve as a cross-functional leader within the organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of grant objectives while coordinating key internal and external stakeholders to meet Forge Battery’s strategic goals. Additionally, this Program Manager role will lead and coordinate activity across the Product Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions contributing to Forge Battery’s success. The ideal candidate may have the potential to grow into an executive position within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the management and execution of a large federal grant, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements, budget constraints, and project milestones.

• Serve as a cross-functional leader, coordinating across multiple departments, including Product Engineering, Manufacturing, ALD materials production, vendor management, and supplier management.

• Work closely with Forge Nano to align resources and capabilities with Forge Battery’s strategic initiatives.

• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables to track progress and mitigate risks effectively.

• Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and provide regular financial reports and projections to stakeholders.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and industry partners to drive project success.

• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and updates for internal executives, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across business operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a fast-paced, start up, high-growth environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• 7+ years of experience in program management, government grant management, or a related field, preferably in energy storage, advanced materials, or manufacturing industries.

• PMP Certification

• Strong understanding of federal grant processes, compliance, and reporting requirements.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience engaging with executives, government officials, and industry leaders.

• Understanding and experience w/FMEA, DVP & Product Engineering disciplines.

• Experience in vendor and supplier management, contract negotiations, and budget oversight.

• Knowledge of ALD technology, battery production, or related advanced manufacturing processes is a plus.

Work Environment

Work will be in an office or manufacturing environment. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required.
