Data Scientist, Product Analytics

About the Role

We're seeking an exceptional AI product analyst who is obsessed with Data. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the CEO and will have an opportunity to create high impact.

You would be responsible for mining diamonds from our data and driving data backed decisions across Product, applications and engineering teams. 

The role would require close collaboration with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, Business Operations to identify growth opportunities, craft narratives that deepen our understanding of the business, forecast future performance, and build predictive models to effect positive business outcomes. 

You will lead all the efforts on AI product analytics in the entire organization. This role will be a one person team and the ideal candidate would be a strong communicator, can operate independently, would have high agency, ownership mindset and qualifies on our core values.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches
• Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our products (through analyses such as cohort analysis, user personas and behavioral cohorting, forecasting, impact analysis).
• Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions
• Deliver clear and compelling presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders.
• Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Prodigal’s data structures and metrics, proactively identifying gaps, and championing improvements for both products and business activity, as well as external marketing spend trends

What You Should Have:

• New grad from Tier 1 College OR 1 year of prior product analytics experience
• A degree in Engineering, Statistics, Math, Economics, Physics or other quantitative field (advanced degrees are a plus)
• Experience implementing statistical analysis and data wrangling using Excel, Python, SQL and Tableau
• Experience with statistical and machine learning methods to build descriptive and predictive models (huge bonus)
• Experience translating analysis results into product recommendations and business questions into an analysis framework
• Demonstrates high agency: proactively identifies problems, takes ownership of outcomes, and drives initiatives independently
• Eager to learn new tools and techniques, open to feedback, and continuously develops skills
• Comfortable working in ambiguous situations, with the ability to bring structure, clarity, and focus to loosely defined problems
