The Sr. Underwriter will be responsible for the timely and accurate underwriting of mortgage loans. Maintains effective communication with the member, mortgage broker, loan counselor and/or Realtor. Reviews files for completeness and identifies critical missing information. Evaluates the degree and seriousness of data discrepancies to ensure loan meets guidelines. Validates automated underwriting (Client DU) findings to ensure accurate input of loan data, the loan meets Client and credit union underwriting guidelines and all conditions for closing are met. Grants final approval on routine files within delegated authority. Performs underwriting analysis of complex loan requests including the analysis of member tax returns, business returns and financials and grants final approval within delegated authority. Prepares loan file for review and approval by either the second approval signer or Senior Loan Committee.
Required Skills
High School or equivalent.
Minimum 5 Years of experience underwriting conventional conforming and jumbo loans and performing analyses of complex financials and tax returns.
Required Experience
Knowledge of Client and FHLMC underwriting and secondary marketing guidelines.
Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance guidelines.
General knowledge of loan processing and closing guidelines.
Knowledge of Kinecta's internal policies and programs.
A proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
