JOB SUMMARY


The IT Technician role is to support the Technology Department by ensuring that the company’s technical capabilities are optimized and scalable to allow for continuous growth and improvement. This position requires frequent contact with end users located onsite and across the company. Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues as they arise and assisting with maintenance and other projects as defined by leadership. The IT Technician serves as a representative of Gemini’s Technology department and works closely with vendors. 

  • Location: Rocklin, CA / Hybrid-remote
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm 
  • Compensation:  $21.63-$28.37 Per Hour
Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manage users, groups and permissions for Google, Adobe, and internal software and web environments
  • Maintain inventory of technical equipment and user assignments 
  • Ensure proper safeguards are utilized to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and HIPAA compliance 
  • Provide technical support for local and remote users, manage expectations and provide reasonable turnaround on support requests 
  • Submit, assist and oversee resolution of tickets alongside in-house technical staff 
  • Set up, configure and support Gemini’s mobile devices, printers, scanners, CD copiers, security system and desktop and laptop computers 
  • Employ excellent time management in balancing work duties 
  • Install and configure software in alignment with licensing requirements 
  • Provide device training to end users 
  • Other duties as assigned 


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Education and/or experience: 

  • Associate’s degree (minimum) in a technical field preferred, but not required 
  • 6-12 months of related experience preferred, but not required 

Skills:  

  • High degree of organization and attention to detail 
  • Effective communicator both in person and through writing 
  • Maintain patience and professionalism while working with various levels of technical understanding 
  • Thrive in an autonomous environment 
  • Diligently track tickets, tasks and projects with appropriate tools 
  • Effective at prioritization of executing tasks based on need/importance 
  • Willingness to learn and adapt as industry changes occur 
  • Ability to efficiently manage work in progress - balancing service desk requests, project tasks and maintaining/updating technical inventory 
  • Must be able to adhere to departmental process guidelines 

Technology: 

  • Highly proficient using a computer, business phone, office software, video conferencing, and other computer programs including Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat to complete assigned work 
  • Must have experience administering/or be willing to learn how to support the company’s G Suite environment 
  • Basic networking and OS concepts 
  • Must be proficient with Windows and macOS operating systems 
  • Must be proficient with iOS and Android mobile devices 
  • Must be willing to learn and apply new skills in alignment with changes in technical landscape and company objectives to migrate IT infrastructure and services to the cloud, including shell scripting and database query and analysis 
  • Ticketing systems - how to assign, update, track, schedule and communicate with end users and teammates, documenting resolutions and resolving existing trouble tickets 
  • Best practices for creating/managing accounts, changing passwords and setting permissions for departmental resources

TRAVEL


Local travel happens occasionally and may be required when servicing remote users within the greater Sacramento area 


FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS


Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including, but not limited to:  

  • Lifting, bending, standing, climbing, walking and crawling/crouching underneath desks while carrying out assigned duties   
  • Sitting for at least one hour at a time (total: 4-6 hours/day) 
  • Keyboarding for extended periods of time (total: 2-4 hours/day) 
  • Walking within the office <5 minutes at a time, multiple times throughout the day 
  • Using a phone with or without a headset for extended periods (total: 3-5 hours/day) 
  • Lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) 
  • Being available and willing to come into work outside of business hours if requested for special projects or in cases of outages or service failures
