Here is your opportunity to join our Technology Services section. The Security Engineer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining compliance policies across endpoints, managing a comprehensive Vulnerability Program, and developing Attack Surface Reduction strategies. This includes using tools like Microsoft Endpoint Protection and Intune, addressing patching needs, creating security baselines, and providing remediation for vulnerabilities and exposures. Additionally, the role involves creating security documentation and participating in vulnerability assessments to ensure robust endpoint and application server security.

Compensation:
Infrastructure Administrator 2 $50,460.80 - $68,783.21
Infrastructure Administrator 3 $57,678.40 - $79,624.99
Infrastructure Administrator 4 $62,316.80 - $86,000.00
The starting salary ranges are included for the Infrastructure Administrator position reflects the minimum to 50.3% of the compensation. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.
Essential Functions
- Establish, and maintain compliance policies for managed endpoints using the available suite of tools available including Microsoft Endpoint Protection and Intune
- Manage the Vulnerability Program and address scanning cadence, patching cadence, and exceptions. Address missing legacy, OT, and third-party patches as well as assist with upgrades that have not been addressed due to the availability of resources and continue to identify any remaining vulnerabilities.
- Create, monitor, and report on actionable intelligence that reveals endpoint, application server weaknesses and vulnerabilities
- Establish Workstation Security Baselines, maintain appropriate controls and implement required remediation activities
- Develop and maintain Security Systems documentation.
- Provide for the Assessment and Remediation of published Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE’s)
- Create Attack Surface Reduction strategies including defense in depth, zero trust, least privilege, performing continuous vulnerability administration, manage access controls which includes the application of those strategies across District endpoints and any IoT Devices
- Participate in Vulnerability Assessments and provide effective remediation of identified outcomes
- Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises.
- Support Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) activities and the Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) team
- Manages daily workload and supports projects within online ticketing system.
- Follows Change Management processes.
Working Conditions
Most work is conducted in a standard office environment; occasional trips to service offices and other locations may be required. Ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Occasionally lifts and carries objects up to 10 pounds. Some after hours and weekend work is required by the Information Technology Bureau to complete projects and initiatives.
The District plays a critical, emergency management role before, during and after major storm events and/or in conjunction with the overall emergency management strategy, operations and recovery for the State of Florida. The employee therefore may be required to perform duties as assigned before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies. Such duties may include the employee's normal work duties or other emergency support functions as determined necessary by the District.

- Associates degree (or higher) and two (2) years of related work experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)

- Bachelors degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, or related field and four (4) years of related work experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)

- Bachelors degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, or related field and six (6) years of related work experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)

Additional Details
This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This position is based out of the Brooksville, FL office, however remote work is available. This position is eligible for compensatory time for hours worked over 40 hours, in a week.
