GIS Technician- 2-year Hybrid Contract

Richmond, VA

Your Day-to-Day

Edit and maintain GIS data to accurately reflect fiber optic cable installations as they are completed in the field.
Work within GIS and database applications that model electric utility distribution systems and fiber optic networks.
Interpret and apply functional business processes related to utility design, construction, and operations.
Understand and manage data attributes that support utility and fiber network operations.
Create and maintain a connected GIS model that accurately represents the electric distribution system.
Perform and manage Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure GIS data reflects real-world conditions.
Be available for emergency response and planned overtime as needed.

Who You Are

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

High School Graduate or Equivalent
GIS education or certification
Fiber optics and electric utility experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Experience with spatial databases and data modeling.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and as-built documentation.
