Location: Remote (Australia-wide)
Compensation: $350 per session (total of $2,450 across 7 x 1-hour sessions + 30-minute fortnightly planning catch-ups & prep – Approx 2.5hrs per fortnight)
Duration: August – November 2025
Session Times: Wednesdays, 5:15 PM to around 6:45 PM AEST or AEDT, with the audience joining from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. (Day of the week subject to change)

CPActive is a national grassroots movement powered by Cerebral Palsy Alliance. We’re a community of people advocating for social and systemic change in our society, led by the voices of people with disability. The Young Changemakers Program brings together young people with cerebral palsy to learn, connect, and grow as the next generation of advocates and leaders.

About CPActive Young Changemakers

The CPActive Young Changemakers Program is a 12-week online advocacy and leadership program designed by and for young people 18-30yrs with cerebral palsy. The program includes seven themed modules, each explored in an engaging fortnightly masterclass session, hosted live online.

  • Next round commencing – August 2025
  • You’ll co-lead 7 total sessions: Welcome Week, five themed modules (My Story, My Voice, My Rights, My Lead, My Networks), and a Wrap-Up session.
  • Sessions runs from 5:15 PM to around 6:45 PM AEST or AEDT, with the audience joining from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. 
  • Session dates:
    • Wednesday 6 August
    • Wednesday 20 August
    • Wednesday 3 September
    • Wednesday 17 September
    • Wednesday 1 October
    • Wednesday 15 October

Each masterclass features a special guest speaker, including prominent advocates and leaders such as Emma Bennison and Rosemary Kayess, who bring expertise and insight to the sessions.

About the Role

We're looking for a young person with lived experience of cerebral palsy to be the host of this program. As host, you’ll be the friendly and engaging presence that brings energy and structure to each live Masterclass session. You will be responsible for engaging the group members in the online learning environment, leading conversation about the topic area and interacting with the special guest.

What You'll Do
  • Host 7 online Masterclass sessions (60 minutes each)
  • Briefing meeting fortnightly on Mondays (at a time that suits you) with the CPActive operations team for a 30-minute prep session ahead of each masterclass
  • Lead the online masterclass sessions:
    • Introduce each session theme and guest speaker
    • Lead discussions, Q&As, and interactive elements
    • Collaborate with the CPActive team to prepare content
    • Create a welcoming and accessible environment for all
    • Stimulate engagement via chat, verbal cues, and multimodal communication
Who You Are
  • Aged 18–40 with direct lived experience of cerebral palsy
  • A confident, clear communicator and a great listener
  • Experienced and skilled in group facilitation or similar
  • Passionate about disability rights, inclusion, and social change
  • Comfortable using Zoom with a reliable internet connection
  • Organised, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Committed to accessibility and inclusive communication
