Position Summary
Primary responsibilities: Daily operation of the Business Office; the ability to work efficiently and quickly while maintaining accuracy to ensure that cash is processed in a timely manner that supports daily Zoo operations; follows and enforces all cash handling procedures; assists with financial reporting, data entry and other duties as assigned.

Your day to day
Essential Functions (including but not limited to):
Performs daily functions of the Business Office:
operating Tidal TR400 dispense and deposit cashier tills, cash management and cleaning.
reconciliations.
cash pick-ups at various locations Zoo-wide in accordance with Zoo policy.
deposits
audit requests assigned by the Business Office Manager, Controller, and CFO.
Accurately and thoroughly maintains daily cash receipt records, logs, daily paperwork and documentation in compliance with Zoo policy and all regulations governing these operations as required by the Business Office Lead, Business Office Manager, Controller and/or CFO.
Performs filing, photocopying and other general clerical duties.
Responsible for cleanliness, tidiness and overall appearance of the Business Office.
Responsible for completing Galaxy Software maintenance, such as unlocking passwords, adding users, monitor capacity of special events and encounters.
Responsible for completing requests for COMP, Events and Group ticket sales and barcodes.
Maintain Clover/VeriFone devices regarding distribution and reporting maintenance issues to Business Office Manager.
Assists management to secure all cash items in safes, recyclers and properly secures Cash Room premises.
Assists with ensuring company and regulatory compliance related to functional areas of responsibility
Avoids potential for theft and inaccurate record keeping through
continued vigilance
proper cash handling in accordance with the Zoo Cash Handling Policies
employee training
proactive behavior.
Always provides excellent internal and external guest service and monitors guest service
Reports any issues and/or concerns on Business Office operations or cash handling to Business Office Lead. Business Office Manager and/or Controller.
Assists with hands-on support of daily operations of the Zoo and all Zoo events.
Other duties as assigned by the Business Office Lead and/or Business Office Manager.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college course work is preferred.
One to two years cash handling or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Operational experience with the following: (preferred but not required)
Tidel/Sesami Cash recyclers
Galaxy POS
Clover/Verifones
Must be proficient with Word/Excel and be able to adapt well to various other computer programs.
Knowledge of currency/counterfeiting safeguards.
Some specialized training in the hospitality industry is preferred.
Other Requirements:
Conducts all activities in alignment with AZA standards and guidelines, all relevant laws and regulations, safety standards and standards that ensure animal welfare.
Ability to work in confined office setting in largely sedentary position using various computer programs.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and manage files and file boxes, to file in large cabinets
Ability to use radio, telephone and computer to communicate and follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work full-time and with occasional varied shifts including holidays, weekends and in support of the park and events as needed
Must be able staff special events and exhibits as well as be available for unexpected shift
Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including extending sitting, bending, standing, lifting, and walking.
Must be proficient with Word and Excel and be able to adapt well to various other computer programs.
Must be flexible and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude with the public.
Ability to communicate ideas and contribute effectively to departmental development.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to think logically and solve problems with minimal guidance.
Quality control: demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors your own work to ensure quality.
Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
