Position is responsible for the day-to-day care and treatment of the animals that are brought to the shelter. Position will perform duties pertaining to kennel maintenance, custodial responsibilities, and maintaining a disease-free environment for animals at the facility. Interacts with the public, fellow staff, community service, and volunteers professionally and with exceptional customer service. Is expected to work safely and maintain a consistency with ACCD vision and mission statements and beliefs, policy, and procedures. Must be able to obtain/maintain Euthanasia Certification from the Humane Society of the United States.

Provides enrichment and socialization for dogs and cats.
Responsible for Kennel maintenance.
Cleans and disinfects the kennels.
Responsible for feeding and direct care of animals.
Moves animals within the facility.
Responsible for custodial duties.
Communicates appropriate information to the public.
Follows standard operating procedures.
Handles animals properly.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to handle, control, and load animals in excess of 50 lbs and perform manual labor. Must be able to communicate both in oral and written format.
