Job Goal: The Lunchroom Aide supports the school staff by assisting with the supervision of students during lunch periods to ensure a safe, orderly, and pleasant dining environment.
Essential Job Functions
Monitor student behavior in the lunchroom, ensuring compliance with school rules and procedures.
Assist students with seating, disposing of trash, and maintaining orderly lines.
Encourage positive social interaction and table manners.
Address minor student issues and refer major behavior concerns to appropriate staff.
Clean tables and lunchroom areas as needed during and after lunch periods.
Assist with setup and cleanup of the cafeteria space before and after lunch shifts.
Ensure student safety, including reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions to the appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned by school administration.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk continuously for the duration of the lunch period (2.5–3 hours).
Ability to bend, reach, and stoop frequently.
Capable of lifting or moving light objects (up to 25 pounds), such as lunchroom trays, trash bags, and cleaning supplies.
Tolerance for indoor noise levels common to cafeteria environments.
Visual and auditory ability to monitor student behavior and ensure safety.
