Job description

SSP Innovations, LLC is looking for a UI/UX Engineer with software and development experience to join our growing business.  As a UI/UX Engineer will work closely with the UI/UX Director and the design team to create intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces for the 3-GIS Suite of Products. This role involves translating design concepts into functional and responsive user experiences, ensuring technical feasibility and adherence to established design standards. The UI/UX Engineer will collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to deliver high-quality, user-centered software solutions.

Job Duties:
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and user flows given product requirements.
  • Translate wireframes, mock-ups and user flows into functional and interactive prototypes.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure the successful implementation and technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Develop and maintain UI design components and style guides, ensuring consistency across all products and applications.
  • Assist in conducting user research and usability testing to gather feedback for design improvements.
  • Advocate for user needs and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Work within an agile development environment, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Create and present design deliverables to communicate interaction concepts to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging front-end technologies and UI/UX design trends.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in design, Computer Science, or a relevant field is preferred, with 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with Figma.
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies.
  • Expert communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong time-management and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Software Development, especially front-end web applications
  • Experience with GIS, preferably ESRI
  • Understanding of fiber or utility networks
  • Experience with agile methodology

Working conditions
This position operates remotely but requires occasional presence in a professional office environment. This role requires routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers. This role may require occasional travel, both domestically and internationally.
