JOB SUMMARY

The Project Pricing Consultant plays a critical role in driving strategic pricing decisions by analyzing project requirements, conducting quality assurance checks, and ensuring accurate data entry for pricing and takeoff processes. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, hardware takeoff proficiency, product research/application expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects within a defined territory. The ideal candidate will have experience in pipeline management, project coordination, and a keen eye for detail to support competitive pricing strategies and customer satisfaction.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES, JOB DUTIES

Pricing 

  • Perform detailed advanced hardware takeoffs to ensure accurate and competitive project and pricing.
  • Identify pricing discrepancies and recommend cost-effective solutions. Refine pricing strategies to align market conditions and sales objectives.
  • Refine pricing strategies to align market conditions and sales objectives.

Project Coordination and Pipeline Management 

  • Work closely with Sales and other teams to ensure alignment of deal structuring and approvals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to sales leadership, providing insights into deal trends, pricing effectiveness, and market competitiveness.
  • Act as a liaison between sales teams and internal decision-makers, ensuring smooth execution of complex quotes and proposals.

Product Research and Application 

  • Conduct research on new and existing products to determine appropriate applications and pricing strategies.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive pricing models, and emerging product solutions.
  • Provide recommendations on product selections based on customer requirements.

Territory and Relationship Management 

  • Oversee pricing and project coordination for a specific geographic territory.
  • Develop strong relationships with key clients, and internal teams to support successful project execution.
  • Provide market insights and competitive analysis to optimize pricing strategies.

Data Entry and Problem Solving 

  • Accurately input and maintain pricing data in internal systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pricing-related issues in collaboration with sales teams.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of proven knowledge of hardware takeoff tools and software.
  • Strong knowledge of tools (Salesforce, ERP, preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic-thinking skills with the ability to evaluate deal profitability.
  • Experience with pricing strategies, cost analysis, and margin management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (specifically Excel).
  • Experience in territory management and client relationship-building.
