OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Director of Strategic Sourcing who is responsible for leading and executing the company's sourcing and procurement strategy to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation across a manufacturing organization. This role focuses on building long-term supplier relationships, optimizing the supply base, and ensuring alignment with company objectives for cost, quality, and delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure continuity of supply
- Lead sourcing initiatives including supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration and continuous improvement
- Identify and assess potential suppliers, evaluate capabilities, and onboard new suppliers as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance) to align sourcing strategies with company goals
- Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing, and supply risks to inform sourcing decisions
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and track sourcing savings
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards
- Develop and maintain KPIs to measure supplier performance and sourcing effectiveness
- Manage and mentor a team of sourcing and procurement professionals
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills
- Experience with global sourcing and supplier management
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and sourcing tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- Certification such as CPSM, CPM, or CSCP preferred
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
