The FINANCE MANAGER is responsible for overseeing the continuous improvement of data collection, forecasting and reporting systems to best support operational divisions in achieving their goals. Responsibilities will be to drive accounting best practices and usage of toolsets, provide support to controllers on monthly/quarterly deliverables, and review account reconciliations.

This position works remotely and reports directly to the Business Unit Vice President of Finance, with a strong working relationship with the Business Unit Directors of Finance and Corporate Finance Organization.

Does this work interest you?

  • Analyze financial performance of divisions against key metrics and documents pertinent financial highlights that will drive management decision making.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts for divisions, assist divisions as needed to drive efficiency in their processes.
  • Ensure integrity of the financial statements through monthly review of account reconciliations.  Identify reconciliation gaps and escalate as appropriate.
  • Tier 1 support for controllers and their teams on day-to-day activities and monthly/quarterly deliverables.
  • Provide key support for accounting tasks when there is turnover for controllers and/or accounting roles at divisions. Learn and become proficient with financial close processes to ensure continuity of financial operations.
  • Be an agent of change. Drive adoption of best practices and financial toolsets across the divisions.
  • Become a skilled user of the ERP with regards to inventory and job costing and flow of this information into the ledger. Develop a good baseline knowledge of ERP from an operations standpoint to be able to help coach/train on developing process improvements as it relates to getting consistency in our process and our data.
  • Supports the VP Finance & Director of Finance in a business partnership role to the Business Unit President and Senior Vice Presidents, to continuously improve the organization’s financial performance.
  • General data extraction – ability to pull data out of our data warehouse or ERP system via Excel connection to tables, Sequel statements or use of Tableau and bring items that need attention to the BU Management.
  • Becomes an “expert” in our Project Cost Management tool, to be able to have the ability to train divisions on how to properly use the tool to effectively manage their projects with the support from BU leadership.
  • Bring forth ideas and opportunities they see to make improvements and what they should be working on to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Acquisition Integration and support.
  • Other ad hoc requirements from the VP Finance or corporate team.

  • 5 or more years (7+ years preferred) of experience in managing an accounting function, preferably in a manufacturing environment
