Position: Beekeeping & Admin Support

Company Description
Ensure Hive Future is a Federal Not for Profit dedicated to research & education. A large component of that is around Varroa Resistant Bees. Bees that don't need chemicals nor antibiotics to survive. Bees that are also adapted to their local environment. We work with small scale commercial apiaries, backyard beekeepers, scientists, and farmers towards a more sustainable future.
Job Description
This is a
hybrid role ideal for someone with strong organizational and communication skills who is also interested in environmental work. You will primarily work
remotely, supporting the team with administrative tasks like
social media, outreach, marketing, scheduling, and bookkeeping. To satisfy grant requirements and support core programming, you’ll also be expected to
occasionally attend in-person activities in Whistler, including assisting with apiary tours and fieldwork related to our Varroa-resistant bee research.
Remote / Administrative Work (Majority Of Role)
- Support marketing efforts (content creation, email outreach, partnerships)
- Maintain and update website and social media platforms
- Assist with volunteer coordination and tour bookings
- Help manage inventory, scheduling, and communications
- Contribute to bookkeeping and reporting for grant compliance
Field Work In Whistler (Occasional)
- Assist with hive inspections and research data collection
- Support beekeeping experiences for guests
- Participate in honey harvesting and basic equipment maintenance
- Learn and contribute to ongoing queen-rearing and Varroa testing initiatives
You Are Someone Who Is
- A self-starter who thrives in flexible, remote work settings
- Passionate about pollinators, sustainability, and environmental education
- Friendly, organized, and comfortable interacting with a variety of people (guests, hotel concierges, scientists, farmers, volunteers)
- Willing to suit up and engage in hands-on beekeeping tasks when needed
No Previous Beekeeping Experience Needed!

Skills You Will Gain Through This Role
- Digital marketing, outreach, and nonprofit administration
- Advanced queen-rearing methods
- Instrumental insemination (introductory level)

To satisfy grant requirements, you must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant. Ages 15 to 30 years may be eligible participants. We will also be taking co-op students in future years for the right students.

- Pay: From $19.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 30 per week
- Additional pay: Bonus pay
- Schedule: Weekends as needed
