Our mission is to support the long-term ministry and financial sustainability of communities of faith, ensuring their spaces continue to benefit the community for the long term. 


The Opportunity 

As the Church Engagement Lead, you will play a vital role in guiding communities of faith through property decisions that help sustain their ministries. You’ll build relationships, deliver consulting services, and collaborate with church leaders and staff at regional and national levels. You will also contribute to the wider church property ecosystem by sharing best practices and supporting The Church Property Networks. Your work will directly support the mission of the United Church of Canada stewarding its property assets to serve ministries today and into the future. 


Primary Areas of Responsibility 

Consulting & Advisory 


  • Deliver consulting services to communities of faith, helping them explore options for financial sustainability. 
  • Coordinate intake and assessment meetings and collaborate with the Intake Coordinator. 
  • Lead UPRC services to support property decisions, including preparing Property Vitality Reports. 
  • Advise on building usage, rental strategies, collaborative ministries, and amalgamations. 
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow and strengthen UPRC. 


Ecosystem and Resource Development  


  • Share best practices via blogs, webinars, and case stories. 
  • Support the Church Property Network and provide leadership at monthly gathering 
  • Develop resources to help communities of faith make informed property decisions. 


Qualifications 

Education: Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. theology, management, business, real estate, community development). 


Skills and Experience: 

  • Deep knowledge of congregational life  
  • Understanding of denominational governance. 
  • Strong understanding of church property and rental strategies 
  • Proven experience working in or with faith based communities 
  • Works well as part of a team and independently  
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with competing priorities. 
  • Collaborative, creative, and resourceful approach to problem-solving. 
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills 
  • Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills 


Working Conditions 

The United Property Resource Corporation has adopted a hybrid workplace model, providing flexibility for this position. Must be available during core business hours, with occasional evening and weekend meetings. Sitting and viewing a computer screen for long periods, keyboarding/using assistive devices or technologies, intermittent physical activity including sitting, standing and being on a call for long periods of time will be required.

Compensation 

The target hiring range for this position is $85,000.00 to $95,982.91. Placement on the salary range will depend on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role. Pension and group benefit plans coverage and annual vacation round out this compensation package
