This is an Anticipated Vacancy: This position is assigned to Maury Correctional Institution. Position will be assigned to a housing unit in the custody area. Effective verbal/written communication with other staff, offenders, and the general public. Be capable of defending oneself against attack by violent persons. Work under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders who can become physically violent/ verbally abusive. Conduct continuous visual/audio surveillance of assigned work area. Accurately operate office machines/ prepare written reports/forms which accurately reflect information reviewed from various sources. Demonstrate/ instruct offenders in the proper safe use of tools, equipment/supplies. Review, analyze/evaluate various documents and behavioral data gathered from interview/documentation/personal observation. Perform crisis intervention/routine counseling to include suicide prevention. Account for supplies/ equipment. Implement/ manage correctional programs.
