About the Role

Technical and system expert, that will own, develop, and drive initiatives in the global Computer Aided Quality (CAQ) team through the implementation and continuous improvement of various quality functional modules. Examples include Siemens Teamcenter Quality focused on Design FMEA, Process FMEA, Siemens Opcenter for Incoming Goods Inspection, Problem solving, and various new modules in plan within Teamcenter Quality. 

The key responsibility of this position is to be the expert on system function, configuration, structure, and application for process designs.  

You will work with members of your team and business owners to own development, implementation, rollout, and maintenance through the lifecycle of the CAQ lifecycle.  In addition, you will execute the development of custom applications as a Citizen-Developer built in a low-code platform, in collaboration with Harman Digital, for new functions, features and user experience. 

This role will work across Business and Digital teams to solve complex system issues enabling successful design, deployment, and integration in the Digital Quality Systems and related features (PLM, ERP, MES). 

This role will function and execute at a highly technical level regarding process and tools.   

What You Will Do

  • Act as a business architect and owner of Harman Quality systems regarding Business Application, Design, functionality, data structures, and intersystem connections. 
  • Act as an owner between Business and Digital by understanding business requirements and transforming them into specifications for development within the team or within Digital. 
  • Design and build new procedures and systems as a Citizen Developer, both in collaboration with Harman Digital for enterprise Quality applications and in Mendix Low-Code Platform for custom user applications. 
  • Work closely with your teammates in the Computer Aided Quality, to solve complex problems and support with exceptional tool design. 
  • Identify potential issues in change and quality management, formulating problem statements and developing solutions. 
  • Drive optimizations and improvements for CAQ processes and upstream/downstream applications such as Teamcenter PLM, SAP or EDM. 
  • Performing as necessary administrative tasks in Quality Systems, SAP, and other master data applications. 
  • Support Quality Engineers and quality teams in their daily work with the systems. 
  • Perform Root Cause problem solving on complex Quality business processes and system issues to enable continuous improvement and achievement of Quality & PLM phase objectives.  
  • Lead, own and drive creation of master data requirements to ensure effective rollout of Quality project deliverables. 
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of functional systems in place to establish and manage migration strategies as necessary for successful CAQ integrations. 
  • Collaborate closely with the PLM Business Team, to integrate successfully to Change for closed-loop-quality. 

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Relevant technical Bachelor or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems (MIS) 
  • 4 to 5 years working experience with any of the following in an Automotive Supplier or OEM. 
  • Demonstrated programming skill (ex. Python, C++) and working with and in Databases (ex. SQL)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to create effective presentations and project documentation. 
  • Strong competence in collaboration tools (Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams). 
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and work effectively in a team environment

Bonus Points if You Have

  • AIAG Certification 
  • Masters Degree 
  • Experience with HTML & CSS 
  • Experience with Siemens & Teamcenter Applications 
  • Experience with enterprise systems (ex. SAP ERP & IBP & MES)
  • Experience with Low Code Platforms (ex. Siemens Mendix) 
  • CMII Configuration Management certification (Certified or Professional) 
  • Professional certification in change management / project management 
  • Knowledge and application of continuous improvement philosophies

  • Be willing to work in an office, in Novi, Michigan 
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

Salary Ranges:

$ 76,500 - $ 112,200
