Job Summary
The Epic Willow Ambulatory/Specialty Pharmacy Analyst is responsible for enhancing, maintaining, and supporting the Epic Willow Ambulatory and Specialty Pharmacy modules and workflows. This role involves performing in-depth analyses of patient and staff workflows, providing informed recommendations and solutions that align with the organization’s business requirements, and focusing on improving the patient experience.
The Application Analyst Lead provides advanced technical support and leadership for complex clinical and business applications, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with organizational needs. This role leads application administration efforts, coordinating team resources to analyze user needs, implement and optimize systems, and troubleshoot technical issues.
As a team leader, the Application Analyst Lead prioritizes tasks, manages work plans, and facilitates communication across teams to meet deadlines and resolve escalated issues. This position ensures seamless integration of applications with cross-functional systems and guides projects or project tasks to successful completion.
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience
Acceptable: Associate’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with 13 years of relevant experience
Experience
Certification in Epic Willow Ambulatory at a minimum. Will also require Willow Specialty Pharmacy or Health Planet Certification
Proven experience in Epic Pharmacy build, application support, triage, and troubleshooting
Certification in Willow Inventory preferred
Strong working knowledge of retail pharmacy, clinical, and/or specialty pharmacy workflows
Licensure/Certification/Listing
Valid Driver’s License
Must satisfactorily complete required Epic certification testing
Must maintain Epic certifications
Essential Job Functions
Thorough understanding of Epic Willow Ambulatory and Specialty Pharmacy workflows for patient outreach, medication therapy management, prior authorization, therapy compliance, and prescription dispensing.
Collaborates with internal and external technical and end-user groups to ensure applications and third-party systems meet the organization’s clinical and business needs
Maintains knowledge of new technical concepts and solutions and their application to healthcare; assists with implementation and support of third-party systems
Performs in-depth analysis of end-user department workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues related to design and build decisions
Conducts complex qualitative and quantitative analysis on data and information collected during application data collection/gathering
Converts/translates business and clinical functionalities into system configurations and validates workflows
Plans, prepares, and executes test scripts for application testing, new release testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing
Documents test results, design, change control, system problems, and internal procedures according to departmental standards
Provides technical application support, triage, and troubleshooting for complex applications; participates in on-call coverage for off-hours and application validation during scheduled downtimes
Monitors systems for data quality, efficiency, operation, and data integrity, and appropriately escalates issues/problems
Ensures all aspects of the application integrate with other cross-functional applications used by the organization
