Completes mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting departments

Establishes detailed marketing/business plan including names of potential and existing loan customers, realtors, builders, developers, etc and frequency of contact

Answers customer calls and walks in customers to discuss various loan products and qualification information
\r\n\t
Makes sales calls on potential or existing customers as established in marketing plan to develop new business or retain existing business
\r\n\t
Prepares and distributes approved promotional flyers and materials
\r\n\t
Establishes and implements such other marketing strategies as may be required, including, but not limited to First Time Buyer seminars, First Sale by Owner contacts, letters to past customers, financing seminars
\r\n\t
Networks through professional, business and community organizations and activities to promote and market loan products
\r\n\t
Evaluates loan requests, analyze financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history
\r\n\t
Structures loan to comply with acceptable lending practices and Federal regulations
\r\n\t
Cross-sells other bank products and services
\r\n\t
Prepares files for underwriting, loan committee, private mortgage insurance company and investor including preparation of loan approval sheet
\r\n\t
Reads surveys and appraisals, and takes necessary steps to correct encroachments and violations
\r\n\t
Qualifies loan for final approval by Loan Committee
\r\n\t
Maintains contact with loan customer, communicating progress of loan and obtaining any required documentation
\r\n\t
Participates in worthwhile community activities to promote and enhances the Regions integrity in the community

High school diploma or GED, Bachelors degree preferred
\r\n\t
Two years of mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production
\r\n\t
Abundant mortgage experience in developing external business via referral partners in the market including but not limited to realtors, builders, and financial planners
\r\n\t
Thoroughly knowledgeable of mortgage products and services offered
\r\n\t
Possesses effective and proven sales experience
\r\n\t
Keeps up to date knowledge of real estate market trends
\r\n\t
Knowledgeable on agency and investor regulations and guidelines
\r\n\t
Holds applicable licenses, as required
\r\n\t
Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills
\r\n\t
Knowledgeable on applicable computer software systems to include word processing, databases and spreadsheets
\r\n\t
Good written and oral communication skills
\r\n\t
Good organizational skills
\r\n

At Regions, our Mortgage Loan Originator directs origination of residential mortgage loans from a borrower through a branch network.
Primary Responsibilities
